Proposed electricity generation authority – Edenvale Solar Farm Pty Ltd
Under the Electricity Act 1994 (the Act), the Regulator (i.e. the Director-General of the Department of Energy and Public Works) issues authorities (licences) for electricity generation activities.
When an applicant applies for an electricity generation authority to generate electricity and connect to the transmission network, the Regulator must invite interested persons to make submissions about the application.
What is proposed
Edenvale Solar Farm Pty Ltd (the applicant) has applied for an electricity generation authority under section 179 of the Act, to authorise the operation of a solar farm and its connection to the transmission network 20 kilometres south of Chinchilla.
The Regulator is seeking feedback from interested persons with regards to the application for the electricity generation authority. The Regulator is interested in matters that may impact on the suitability of the applicant to be a holder of a generation authority and the owner (also the applicant) to be the owner, as well as the other issues the Regulator must consider under section 180 of the Act.
