Our decisions

The Department of Energy and Climate (DEC) operates within a corporate governance framework to ensure we meet our strategic objectives and maximise the cost-effective delivery of services.

The Executive Board is the department’s principal governing body responsible for:

  • setting the strategic direction of the department
  • demonstrating leadership
  • overseeing financial and business performance
  • effective use of resources
  • advising and supporting the Director-General as the Accountable Officer.

Departmental officers are required to adhere to the Code of Conduct for the Queensland Public Service. The code requires officers to act with integrity, professionalism and respect when performing their duties.

Consultations

We like to get feedback to help us make policy decisions that benefit the community, industry and key stakeholders. Our consultations aim to target specific issues, and will usually run for a few weeks.
