Procurement Ministerial Advisory Council

The Procurement Ministerial Advisory Council (PMAC) provides a platform to engage with industry thought leaders on the strategic positioning of the Queensland Government’s procurement direction.

Members of the Procurement Ministerial Advisory Council met on 1 July 2024.

Chaired by the Minister, the meeting covered a range of agenda items including:

  • beyond purchasing to partnership: Innovation, opportunity, collaboration, and performance measurement
  • inclusivity in supply chains: Access and inclusion, workforce potential, capability, and targets
  • data-informed decision-making in procurement:  Quality, capability, accessibility, and integration.

Members of the Procurement Ministerial Advisory Council held its inaugural meeting on 24 April 2024.

Procurement Council members discussed a number of priorities that will enable government and industry to deliver nation-leading procurement that optimises the Buy Queensland approach, the Q2032 Procurement Strategy and provides maximum value to Queenslanders.

The members agree to work together towards:

  • a shared sense of the opportunities related to supply chain prioritisation including regional Queensland
  • possible new concepts and/or consideration of new targets and commitments in relation to low carbon and circular materials, collaborative frameworks and contract management
  • capability and capacity of government and industry to deliver now and into the future including new opportunities in Queensland manufacturing.

The Minister thanked the Procurement Council for their participation during the inaugural meeting with members, agreeing to discuss 3 opportunities for government and industry at their June 2024 meeting:

  • becoming a global leader in energy sustainability and decarbonisation
  • the concept of Queensland Procurement Partnerships
  • ideas in relation to disability supply chains and targets.
