The REZ Roadmap
We have updated the Queensland Renewable Energy Zone Roadmap (the Roadmap) after consulting with stakeholders and communities across the state.
The Roadmap is our framework for connecting around 22GW of renewable energy to the grid. It identifies 12 potential renewable energy zones (REZs) across Queensland.
REZs are areas that help coordinate development of clean energy infrastructure delivering better outcomes for Queensland communities and industries.
The Roadmap was developed in line with the Queensland Energy and Jobs Plan and will help us meet our targets of:
- 50% renewable energy by 2030
- 70% renewable energy by 2032
- 80% renewable energy by 2035.

REZ regions
We worked with Powerlink to identify 12 potential REZs, which are grouped by region:

Ongoing review
The Roadmap will be updated every two years, along with the Queensland SuperGrid Infrastructure Blueprint.
We will refine and develop REZs over time in partnership with communities. In years to come, we may identify new REZs to meet Queensland household energy needs and support future industries.
