2023 Growing Queensland Business Roadshows
We are hosting the 2023 Growing Queensland Business Roadshow series around the state in October and November 2023. You can choose your own learning journey by attending some or all of the activities we have to offer on the program.

9.20 – 9.30am – Improvement technique talk: Q2032 Procurement Strategy and other key initiatives
- In this session you will find out more about:
- Q2032 Procurement Strategy, getting ready for the Brisbane 2032 Olympic and Paralympic Games and other key government initiatives.
9.30 – 9.40am – Improvement technique talk: Business improvement and getting ready
- In this session you will find out about:
- common issues that stop businesses winning tenders
- tips on how a business can demonstrate its value
- how to get more business through the tender process
- prepare yourself for the opportunities flowing from the Games.
9.40 – 9.50am – Improvement technique talk: Queensland Procurement Platform - one-stop shop for procurement
- In this session you will find out about:
- how the Queensland Government is joining forces with Local Buy and local government councils to implement a nation-leading, streamlined procurement system
- how to register your business on the new platform, so that your goods and services are visible to government buyers
- how the new platform will help your business be ‘match-fit’ for the Games.
9.50 – 10.15am – Chat 1:2:1 for success and key activity snapshots

10.15 – 10.25am – Improvement technique talk: Preparing your business for the future
- In this session you will find out from Business Chamber Queensland about:
- ecoBiz: Increase efficiency, save money and work sustainably, now and in the future
- Workforce Evolve: Support for Queensland businesses to transform the way you approach employment practices to foster greater diversity and inclusion
- Digital skills hub: Access 25,000 free micro credentials to improve digital knowledge and capacity including digital literacy, AI, social media, data analysis and advanced Excel.
10.25 – 10.35am – Improvement technique talk: Hear from your Local Council
- In this session attendees will find out about:
- working with your local council
- upcoming tendering opportunities
- collaborating to mitigate supply chain challenges to achieve outcomes.
10.35 – 11.10am – Chat 1:2:1 for success and key activity snapshots

11.10 – 11.20am – Improvement technique talk: Increase participation in supply chains
- In this session attendees you will find out:
- how to increase participation in your business supply chains through engagement with Indigenous businesses, social enterprises and small to medium enterprises
- how the Q2032 Procurement Strategy supports suppliers to get ‘Games ready’.
11.20 – 11.40am – Q&A session - Q2032 Procurement Strategy questions and other procurement questions

12.00pm – Doors close
Mentoring for Growth sessions will be held during the roadshow where you can talk freely about challenges or issues you may be facing in your business with business mentors. Register for your personal 30-minute session.
The roadshows are being delivered by key Queensland Government departments, in partnership with select local councils, and the Business Chamber Queensland.
In addition, representatives from the Queensland Regional Manufacturing Hubs, Export Finance Queensland, the Australian Government Department of Defence, and the Australian Government Department of Finance, will also be in attendance at select roadshow locations.
