EVs in Queensland
We are working towards a 2050 net zero emissions target. We can help achieve this target by increasing the number of EVs on Queensland roads and encourage drivers to charge EVs at the right time.
Battery EVs do not emit tailpipe emissions while driving, making them better for our environment than traditional petrol and diesel-powered vehicles.
Queensland's Zero Emission Vehicle Strategy and Action Plan outlines incentives to support EV uptake.
Incentives and cost savings
We offer incentives for EV purchases and ownership including rebates of up to $6,000 and reduced stamp duty.
Read the Queensland Zero Emission vehicle rebate guidelines and eligibility to apply.
EVs are cheaper to run and have lower servicing costs than petrol and diesel-powered vehicles. These cheaper running costs help offset the higher up front purchase costs.
Batteries and charging
We are working on EV charging infrastructure and services so charging your EV is easy, convenient and economical.
